Clinical Supervision + Case Consultation
In addition to my role as a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, I am a Clinical Supervisor and Consultant who provides case consultation, coaching and mentorship for those new to the field and those who are seasoned therapists.
When working with therapists and counsellors, I take on several roles which include being a mentor, coach, and supervisor. At the heart of Clinical Supervision and Consultation, my role is to help foster the professional growth and development of therapists in an empathetic, encouraging and educational way. I also assist therapists and counsellors in improving case conceptualization and psychotherapy skills; exploring transference/counter-transference; and other related work challenges; and reducing burnout, compassion fatigue, or vicarious trauma.
Being in the helping profession for over 15 years, I have found that maintaining a self-care practice is essential to our overall wellness; but also a self-care practice has the added benefit of curbing the potential of compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. As a Clinical Supervisor and Consultant, I encourage therapists to develop and maintain their own self-care practice. For when we take care of ourselves, we have the capacity to be effective and empathetic in the work that we do!
As I primarily work with adult populations, I only provide clinical supervision and case consultation to clients working with youth over 16 years of age or to adult populations.
